Take it to some moron that's pretending to be a tuner opening an ECU on a wooden desk. If we were to say ESD they wouldn't even know what it meant.

Notice that they also often Hydrogen Cleaning. If someone offers that snake oil run! If you think it works or have a machine and you claim it works, convince me otherwise.

What is ESD? In same terms damage from Static. Placing the ECU on or near a conductor or insulator us going to damage it once open unless you take great care.
